Longhorn Sculpin

The work of a curious fellow

There are longhorn sculpin, shorthorn sculpin and sea raven, all of which sometimes go by the name "sculpin". This page is dedicated to the longhorn sculpin. As you can see by the length of the name at the top of this window, we had to include it on the page because there wasn't room on the link. This individual was videographed by the dipping camera, not the ROV so we do not get a close look.

Here is a real challenge to your eyesight. There is a baby sculpin in this scene adjacent to the sand dollar at the left. It really only becomes easily visible when it gobbles up some unfortunate smaller creature.

There were seven people watching this scene of cunner at the bait bag and none of us noticed the large sculpin loitering in the vicinity. Only when reviewing the video was it seen. Not only did we miss the initial appearance but also did not notice later when it slipped into the scene from the left and then swam away.
